28th July 2026, Tuesday - The UPM Scheme C Training Management Committee under the University Laboratory Management Division (BPMU), Office of the TNCPI, UPM held the Biological Safety Cabinet and Laminar Flow Cabinet Self-Maintenance Workshop on the recent July 28, 2026. This half-day workshop was conducted at Multipurpose Laboratory 5 for the theoretical session and the Media Preparation Laboratory for the practical session. This workshop was conducted with the aim of enabling laboratory staff to identify and understand the design and function of each equipment component. Furthermore, this workshop enables laboratory staff to elaborate on the principles and apply the correct methods for using laboratory equipment when handling materials. Subsequently, staff can perform basic maintenance and troubleshooting work on laboratory equipment. At 9.00 a.m., the workshop began with a theoretical session and a briefing delivered by Mrs. Rabiatul Adawiati Mohamad Ghazali from ESCO Micro (M) Sdn. Bhd. The next session, which was the practical session, was handled by technical staff, Mr. Muhammad Aidil Mahadzir. Participation for this workshop was limited to the first 40 participants.
