13^th July 2026, Monday - The Laboratory Management Innovation Award is a new initiative under the University Laboratory Management Division (BPMU) in conjunction with UPM's Quality and Service Innovation Day (HKIP). Its main objective is to recognize laboratory or workshop management innovations that improve efficiency, safety, cost savings, and sustainability. This inaugural event recorded 17 entries. For the initial screening, participants had to go through a preliminary evaluation session where assessments were made virtually and shortlisted for the final evaluation session. 7 finalists, namely the GeronTech Digital Lab (MyAgeing), TropBot (INTROP), MPKSMARTSYS (FEM), LabRat (IKP), AE to AI (FK), ION2 LabAvengers (ION2), and AgriTechLab (FP) groups, have been identified for the Final Evaluation Session of the Laboratory Management Innovation Award. These participants will give presentations on their innovation outcomes and will be evaluated by a panel of judges: Dr. Wan Nurhayati Wan Ab. Rahman, Ts. Dr. Mohd Hafeez Osman, Mrs. Liyana Ithnin, Mr. Shahriman Hashim, and Mrs. Yatimulea Ramli. At approximately 1:00 PM, the evaluation session by the panel of judges concluded. The winners will be announced during the Quality and Service Innovation Day (HKIP) at the end of 2026.
