September 12, 2024, Thursday – The Task Force Committee (JKTF) for Training Management and Competency of Scheme C under the Laboratory Management Division of the University (BPMU) conducted the final training session for the Science Service Scheme (C) for the year 2024, titled "Basic Laboratory Equipment Verification Workshop Series 2 2024." The workshop ran from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and was held in the Tongkat Ali Emas Room, Level 4, Institute of Biosciences (IBS).

The first agenda of the workshop began with a presentation on the basic concepts of measurement/verification: procedures for measuring/verifying equipment and audit findings, delivered by the speaker, Mr. Rafiuz Zaman Haroun. This was followed by practical sessions, which were divided into three groups focusing on the verification of mass, pipettes, pH meters, and temperature. Each practical group was led by facilitators Ms. Nurnazeera Zulkefli, Ms. Norhaszalina Md. Isa, Ms. Julia Abdul Aziz, and Ms. Emi Nadia Mohd Thani.

The main objective of this workshop was to understand the importance of verifying basic laboratory equipment. Additionally, laboratory staff were trained to identify equipment that needed verification and to learn the correct methods for performing verification of basic laboratory equipment. A total of 45 participants from Scheme C attended this workshop.
