
21 August 2024, Wednesday – The Task Force Committee for Training Management and Competency of Scheme C under the Laboratory Management Division of the University held another training session for the Science Service Scheme (C), titled "Sharing Session Series 2/2024: Operation of High-Tech Equipment – Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) and Universal Testing Machine (UTM)." This session was the second series conducted this year, following the first sharing session that involved high-tech equipment such as HPLC and NMR.
The session lasted for 4 hours and took place at the Materials Testing Unit, Biocomposite Technology Laboratory, INTROP. The main purpose of this sharing session was to provide exposure and experience in specific scientific fields and technical equipment. Additionally, laboratory staff could enhance their technical knowledge through the exchange of opinions and experiences among laboratory staff at UPM.
The session began with theoretical learning about the high-tech equipment, DSC and UTM, followed by a demonstration session facilitated by Ms. Eli Rashidah Ashari and Mr. Mohd Lufti Mohd Tawil. A total of 26 participants joined this sharing session on high-tech equipment – DSC and UTM.
