
24 June 2025, Tuesday – The Task Force Committee (JKTF) for Training and Competency Management of Scheme C, under the University Laboratory Management Division (BPMU), organized a Briefing on the Functions and Roles of the University Research Ethics Committee Involving Human Subjects (JKEUPM) and the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC). The main objective of this briefing was to provide a better understanding of the functions and roles of JKEUPM and IACUC, to enable participants to apply relevant knowledge in their respective fields, and to ensure proper implementation in accordance with established regulations. The session was conducted online via Zoom Meeting, beginning at 9:00 AM and concluding at 12:15 PM, with 66 participants from UPM and external agencies in attendance. The first briefing, focusing on the functions and roles of JKEUPM, was delivered by Dr. Suhainizam Muhamad Saliluddin, a Senior Medical Lecturer from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences (FPSK). This was followed by the second presentation by Dr. Kartini Jasni, who provided insights into the functions and roles of IACUC. Before the session concluded, participants had the opportunity to pose several questions during the Q&A session.
