On June 30, 2026, Tuesday, the University Laboratory Management Division (BPMU), in collaboration with Synchronetwork Sdn. Bhd., held a CariLab Pilot Project Kick-Off Workshop at the PSP Seminar Room, Putra Science Park. The workshop aimed to introduce the CariLab platform to the laboratory officers-in-charge (PYB) who were shortlisted for this pilot project. The participation of these selected laboratories is crucial for assisting in the system testing process, gathering user feedback, and improving the platform's functions before wider implementation. CariLab is a digital platform under the UPM Product First initiative, developed to facilitate access to research and testing laboratory facilities through a more integrated, efficient, and centralized approach. The platform serves as a medium to promote laboratory services and equipment while simplifying the search, booking, and access process for both internal and external users. A total of 26 laboratory representatives from the following faculties and institutes attended the one-day workshop:- Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Products (INTROP), Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FPV), Faculty of Forestry and Environment (FHAS), Faculty of Science (FS) and Faculty of Engineering (FK). The workshop began at 9:00 AM with a welcoming speech by Dr. Shafizah Ishak, the creator of CariLab and representative of Putra Science Park (PSP). This was followed by an introduction to CariLab and updates on its current development progress, presented by Mr. Thoriq, CEO of Synchronetwork Sdn. Bhd. For afternoon Session: Mr. Ammar provided technical briefings and conducted User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and System Readiness Testing (SRT) simulations for the involved laboratory representatives. The workshop concluded around 4:30 PM, ending with a photography session and the presentation of tokens of appreciation to all involved parties.
